Tomorrow’s leaders, built today.

Honoring Kenneth Lockett’s legacy by accelerating civic talent in Georgia.
Our North Star

Meet Kenneth.
We built this because of him.

Kenneth, wearing a grey button-down and black jacket, speaks before a student government meeting.

Kenneth was the kind of person you noticed right away — not just for his height, but for his huge smile and unforgettable presence.

He studied full-time, worked three jobs, and was laser-focused on one goal: making civic life more fair, more just, and more accessible to the people who needed it most.

“I want to increase fairness and justice in the world. Whether it’s through law, politics, or journalism, I will work toward this goal.”

— Kenneth Henry Lockett III, 2019

At age 22, just months before graduating from Georgia State University, Kenneth unexpectedly passed away. We lost a son, a brother, a friend — and a rising leader who never stopped pushing for a better world.

We built this Foundation to carry forward the vision Kenneth lived every day: one rooted in service, civic action, and relentless belief in what’s possible. Through our programs, we’ll find and grow the next generation of Georgia’s servant leaders — the kind Kenneth would have been.

How We Work

We invest in Georgia’s future ‌‌leaders when it matters most.

We’re preparing to launch a flagship initiative that will mentor, train, and connect Georgia’s next generation of civic leaders. This program will reflect Kenneth’s legacy of service, offer rare access to real-world legal and community work, and act as a springboard for students across the state to pursue impactful careers in law, journalism, and public service.

The Big Goal

Help us invest in Georgia’s future.

Absolutely. If you’ve already contributed to a DAF — or plan to — you can recommend a grant to support The Kenneth Lockett Foundation. It’s a flexible, tax-smart way to commit to causes you believe in over time. You can initiate a DAF gift directly through DAF Direct if you use Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Mellon Charitable.

Yes — our Giving Team is happy to work with you or your advisor to make your philanthropy align with your financial goals. For example, some donors choose to “bunch” multiple years of donations into a single tax year to exceed the standard deduction threshold and increase their charitable tax benefit. If you’d like to explore structured giving strategies, get in touch and we’ll help you find the right approach.
